The House Between Two Creeks— A Land Healing Story

When I first connected with the home on Playmore Beach Road, I felt it immediately — a deep, ancient heaviness in the land itself. The house sat on a forested slope between two creeks, a natural boundary site long used by Indigenous peoples for ceremony, burial, and ancestral guardianship.

The homeowners had been hearing scratching in the walls, smelling earth and perfume with no physical source, and feeling watched. They knew something was off, but they couldn’t name it.

Inside the home, I found the gentle presence of a woman who had once lived there. I played Amazing Grace and she crossed peacefully. A tree spirit, trapped when a tree was cut down, was healed and released. Emotional residue from past occupants lifted easily.

But the land… the land was the real story.

This property sits within the ancient sphere of the Joara chiefdom, one of the oldest ceremonial cultures in the Southeast. The land remembered. It held boundaries, rituals, and ancestors. And it was asking to be acknowledged.

We performed a full Land Healing Ceremony outside between the two creeks. We honored the First Ones. We called on the Highest of the High. We released all outdated patterns. And we asked the land to accept the home in harmony.

When the ceremony ended, the air shifted. The heaviness lifted. The land softened. The home finally felt like it belonged.

Today, the property is peaceful, grounded, and aligned — a modern home resting respectfully on ancient ground.
