Why Salt Works — and When It Isn’t Enough

Spring has a way of waking up the home. The light shifts, the air softens, and suddenly you feel the urge to open the windows, shake out the rugs, and let the house breathe again. Spring cleaning isn’t just about dust and clutter — it’s about releasing what the home has been holding through the darker months.
Many people instinctively reach for salt during this time. Salt bowls in the corners, salt sweeps across the floors — it’s a simple, ancient way of absorbing stagnant energy. And it works beautifully for the surface layer.
Salt can lift the emotional residue of winter, arguments, stress, and the heaviness that collects in closed‑up spaces.
But salt has its limits.
I once visited a home in early spring where the owner had placed salt bowls in every room. “It helps,” she said, “but the heaviness always comes back.” When I walked through the space, I could feel the deeper imprint — the kind that salt can’t reach.
The home was holding predecessor energy from the previous family, and the emotional weight had settled into the structure of the house itself.
Salt can refresh a room.
But it cannot shift:
long‑term emotional imprinting
predecessor energy
land disturbances
trauma held in the walls
spiritual activity
inherited patterns
These deeper layers require a full Spiritual House Cleansing, where I work with the energetic architecture of the home — not just the surface.
